1986

Le commencement

Les débuts – Suite à la chute de la production locale de riz après 1986, le groupe Acra, présent en Haïti depuis 1923, décide de se lancer dans l'importation de cette denrée essentielle pour nourrir les Haitiens. Cela marque le début de collaborations avec de grandes multinationales telles que Cornell Rice et Cargill.

2003

De nouvelles opportunités

De nouvelles opportunités – En 2003, Haïti figure parmi les plus grands importateurs de riz au monde. Face à cette situation, certains membres du groupe Acra y voient une opportunité et se lancent dans l'importation de riz blanc thaïlandais pour diversifier l'offre.

2006

Diri Mega naît!

La naissance de Diri Mega – En réponse à la demande croissante des Haïtiens pour le riz américain, les importateurs du groupe Acra concentrent leurs efforts sur le marché américain. C'est ainsi qu'en 2006, Diri MEGA voit le jour, apportant une nouvelle option populaire au marché haïtien.

Création de Caribbean Grain Company S. A

Fondation de Caribbean Grain Company S.A. – Pour mieux répondre aux exigences du marché en constante évolution, le groupe Acra fonde en 2009 la Caribbean Grain S.A., une entreprise spécialisée dans l'importation, la distribution, et le stockage de riz et d'autres produits céréaliers.

Caribbean Grain Company is a socially responsible business that employs nearly 300 people, actively contributes to the economy by paying taxes, and engages in Haiti’s social life. We support Haitian culture, sports, and particularly basketball. Furthermore, we create job opportunities and avenues for growth for the youth by providing guidance and future prospects.

To meet changing needs and tackle new challenges, we have expanded our product range by introducing milk, palm oil, pasta, flour, and Pakistani rice. Our MEGA flour is produced locally in our modern factory, operational since 2022, equipped with cutting-edge technology and staffed by highly skilled personnel. We also offer by-products such as semolina and wheat bran, available on the market.
